The Umbrella Academy was a big hit for Netflix on its release early last year, with the sci-fi show attracting viewers in their millions - and now, it's back for a second season.
Based on the comic books of the same name by My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy saw a dysfunctional superhero family come together in the wake of their father's death. But soon the intrepid - and in most cases reluctant - superheroes were tasked with saving the world, which was on the brink of an apocalypse.
With Ellen Page and Mary J Blige playing starring roles, The Umbrella Academy was always bound to be rack up viewing figures, and a second season was soon confirmed last year.
With that in mind, here's all you need to know about season 2.
Umbrella Academy release date
Netflix teased April last year that a second series would be returning to the streaming service with a cryptic tweet reading: "Hello. Season 2. Goodbye."
It was then confirmed that the show would return on Netflix worldwide today, Friday, July 31, 2020.
In a trailer released on YouTube, the main cast are all seen dancing in the safety of their own homes during lockdown to the famous I Think We're Alone Now track by Tiffany, before the date is revealed.
Filming for it began in summer last year and wrapped in November, with showrunner Steve Blackman announcing the news with an Instagram post reading: "It's a wrap on season two of The Umbrella Academy.
"What an amazing cast and crew."
Netflix France then seemed to confirm the news on Twitter, writing: "Le Tournage d'Umbrella Academy saison 2 est termine," which translates to: "The filming of Umbrella Academy season 2 is over."
Like most TV and movie projects at the moment, production may have slowed down owing to the coronavirus outbreak.
However, the crisis appears not to have affected Blackman too much, after he shared another Instagram post with the caption: "Even #corona can't stop an Umbrella Academy Mix! But I swear we're washing our hands."
Umbrella Academy season 2 cast
Netflix teased the return of the main cast of characters with a series of tweets in February, writing: "This time travel thing? It gets messy. The cast of Umbrella Academy is back for season 2."
The poster also reads: "When are they?" - hinting at what happened towards the end of the first season.
Viewers can expect the return of the entire Hargreeves clan, including Ellen Page (Vanya), Robert Sheehan (Klaus) Tom Hopper (Luther), David Castañeda (Diego), Tom Hopper (Luther), Aidan Gallagher (Number 5), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison) and Ethan Hwang (Ben).
And it's likely that Colm Feore could return as Sir Reginald Hargreeves and Jordan Claire Robbins as Grace Hargreeves in the form of flashbacks, as could Adam Godley as Pogo and Kate Walsh as The Handler.
However, whether Mary J Blige and Cameron Britton return as assassins Cha-Cha and Hazel is up in the air, given the Earth was destroyed was by the moon at the end of the last episode. However, Hazel did run off with Agnes (Sheila McCarthy), so we could be seeing their return.
Variety has reported that three new characters are also joining the cast for the second season - Ritu Arya (Humans) will play Lila, a chameleon with a "who can be as brilliant or insane as anyone", Yusuf Gatewood (Good Omens) will be playing Raymond, a "born leader with the smarts, gravitas and the confidence to never have to prove it to anyone" and Marin Ireland (Homeland) will star as Sissy, a "fearless, no-nonsense mum from Texas who married young for all the wrong reasons".
What do we know about the plot?

Netflix has revealed the plot details of the second season, and as was to be expected, the Hargreeves have ended up in a pretty sticky situation.
Number Five had warned his siblings that using his powers to rescue them from the apocalypse (he deployed his time-travelling abilities to whisk them out of harm's way before the moon hit, after Vanya (Ellen Page) discovered her superpowers) was risky.
As it turns out, he was right; the Hargreeves start season two finding themselves scattered in and around Dallas, Texas, with a catch: they're scattered over a time period of three years, starting in 1960.

Some, it is revealed, have been stuck for years and considered themselves to be the only ones who survived, and have moved on with new lives.
As the last to land, Five finds himself right in the middle of nuclear doomsday, which, painfully, is a direct result of their meddling with time.
New images from the second season show the team back together somehow - as well as something definitely not being quite right with Vanya.
In season two, the Hargreeves are faced with the monumental task of reuniting, stopping this nuclear doomsday, returning to the correct timeline and stopping THAT doomsday - all while being chased by Swedish assassins.
