Future of workMonster conducted a survey on how people think about work in 30 years.Respondents predict, that• Wages will worsen (in comparison to the cost of living)• Diversity will become larger• We will change jobs more often• People expect 4 working days a week, flexible hours and a hybrid format• We will face burnout on a larger scale and will work for several employers and projectsLooking at these results, I was reminded of William Gibson's quote, “The future is already here – it's just not evenly distributed”https://lnkd.in/djgXFbv4#careerwellbeing #futureofwork

What managers need to know about #quietfiring. The pandemic shifted nearly every part of our lives — including workplace dynamics. Some workers feel empowered by the changes, such as with the rise of hybrid working arrangements; others left their jobs or transitioned to new careers as part of what’s been dubbedthe #greatresignation. Meanwhile, the recent discussion around“#quietquitting”has sparked conversations about its inverse:“#quietfiring.”https://lnkd.in/grPbyrUu

The majority of workers globally are quiet quitting. Almost 60% to be exact. They are disengaged. They are absent-minded.They are disconnected. This is what research from the past year has concluded, according to Gallup. When the effects of this figure were examined, it was found that this problem could lead to costing 9% of the global GDP. In other words, $8.8 trillion dollars. When employees quiet quit, a common reason is because they do not see much growth potential in their company. They do not feel that their role makes a difference, and much less feel recognized for their value. But they do have value. Their value can be shared, recorded, or broadcast. There are infinite ways to go about it, however here is what we found works.Building a platform where they can be visible, where they can speak on their work passions, and where they feel like they matter. This platform can be as simple as a page in SharePoint all the way to a Notion knowledge base. All the tools that are needed exist in abundance, and we can help you make use of them at C-Sync.#engagement #employee #gallup

Is this the beginning of the end? 🤔When asked about their current job and/or potential future employment, 81% of workers said flexibility in terms of working hours was important to them - unchanged from the previous year.Flexibility in terms of hours was most important to Millennials (those born between 1981-1996) (84%) and Generation X workers (82%) but was still important to Boomers (79%) and members of Generation Z (78%).Almost three-quarters of workers (69%) reported that flexibility in terms of location (ie: the ability to work remotely, from home or other locations) was important to them - also unchanged from the previous year. Boomers - presumably including more managerial roles than other age groups, reported valuing hybrid and remote options the least (61% view this as important) along with Generation X (65%). Millennials (79%) and Generation Z (74%) valued it more highly.Really interesting article. Thanks for sharing it with me Gemma Hutchinson 🙏 I’m keen to hear form any of my contacts/network about how your organisation is thinking about this, based on what you are currently doing, and your thoughts and plans for the future as you look to cultivate environments where your people can flourish, and your business achieves results.#culture #data #debate #hybridworking #HR #inputoutlut #optimalperfromance #peaoplemanagemt #wfh

Well before the birth of my own son, I recognized the value of professional level, well-trained employees requiring part time work. Unfortunately, part-time work is often entry-level. I know a significant number of people at all stages of life with institutional knowledge and management/executive level presence that do not want to be independent consultants, yet want to work part time. So, instead of capturing their talent, they work entry-level roles. What are three strategies you can use to pay a professional level wage, part-time, to recruit these talented future employees?
